Suspended modifications
I want to say about my avionic-pain in quarantine.
All my interesting work and projects - airplane's modifications. My company has a young fleet (older airplane 5 years old - big boy :). But all the time avionic systems are getting better and better. But without operational flights, all my modifications are not very important. Very important right now is parking, save money and hope for the future.
But when we will back to normal life we will continue our interesting work.
And a bit about interesting modifications:
1) Update CMU software for include in White list Eurocontrol - a very huge topic about new rules, it's not a mandate but invests in the future. More information: https://ext.eurocontrol.int/WikiLink/index.php?title=White_Lists&redirect=no
2) New database for ACMS (by Teledyne) for "turn on" predictive tool (by Honeywell) for APU. Modification for ACMS, because for Honeywell's tool we need to provide special reports from ACMS. About PTM&D: https://aerospace.honeywell.com/en/learn/services/maintenance-and-service-plans/predictive-trend-monitoring-and-diagnostics.
3) Analysis of the possibilities of connecting a new function for the current 737NG fleet: ACARS over IP (over cellular). I wrote about it earlier: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/nelli-safina-a0b7164b_wizz-air-becomes-first-european-airline-to-activity-6627977507146735616-j75b
This action in progress, right now my colleagues from Teledyne and SITA work with my requests.
4) Some of the current modification:
- for FADEC (new EEC software),
- update FMC U14,
- update the database for PRAM (we install new main logo, it's a very interesting activity for Sky Interior system),
- update WQAR OPS software, who uses WQAR maybe understand my problem with interrupt sending flight data. New OPS can fix it (I hope).
5) And some modifications to change wirings, it's not interesting. It's routine improvements by Boeing.
I think it's all my interesting modification for today. Very interesting that many modifications to software. We start the era when many things we can do with help new software without change hardware. And it's really cool.
It's only Boeing 737NG fleet. Work to prepare for Boeing 737MAX will be in the future.
