I came across an article about Flight Deck Security:  link here  ( Skybrary is really good recourse.) We all remember September 11, 2001 with horror. Thereafter, all aircraft doors were equipped with a flight crew compartment door that is designed to resist penetration by small arms fire and grenade shrapnel, and to resist forcible intrusions by unauthorized persons. Modifications were made to SB or STC. Yes, we have reduced the risk of crew capture. But we have come to the conclusion that one crew member in lock cabin can become a danger like Germanwings Flight 9525 in March 2015 (final report pdf  here ). After that, security again had to be revised. Now no one can be left alone in the cockpit. We are constantly faced with new and new problems. It's impossible to foresee everything. Airplane connected via Teledyne technology

Screenshot below - Report of the status of data transmission from the WQAR block on the fleet of an airline that does not fly due to COVID19. Very sad picture. All aircraft are parked and now the unit is not transmitting anything. But this is not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about using WQAR (WGL Comm+ Technology) in an airline in a normal condition. This is especially important in the work of a low-cost company when every minute on earth very important (in a normal world, without a pandemic). Now I work with WQAR unit by Teledyne (I had experiences with similar units by Avionics, but I can't say that it was better or worse, because it's chipper). This is a very convenient system: as soon as the airplane arrives, the unit immediately transfers all the flight information to the server. The Internet connection is responsible for the transfer, 4 SIM cards in the block. Internet connection is automatic: the plane landed (racks touched, doors need to be closed)...

Suspended modifications

I want to say about my avionic-pain in quarantine. All my interesting work and projects - airplane's modifications. My company has a young fleet (older airplane 5 years old - big boy :). But all the time avionic systems are getting better and better. But without operational flights, all my modifications are not very important. Very important right now is parking, save money and hope for the future. But when we will back to normal life we will continue our interesting work. And a bit about interesting modifications: 1) Update CMU software for include in White list Eurocontrol - a very huge topic about new rules, it's not a mandate but invests in the future. I want to say about a new tool for me. As I said airlines can take the software for airplanes from OEM or manufacturer on media sets: CD, PCMCI, discettes (oh my god..). Some OEM uses a special host for share software, but it's software very non-major because for very important loadable software we need encryption files over a secure channel. But this year Boeing started to use special security clients for sent software. A bit about interesting and perspective items in modern aviation that I try to study

1. The huge and very interesting item "Predictive maintenance". It's really trending now. Many companies all the world have so much data from airplanes and nobody doesn't know what we can do with data. But we can use it to check some stamps and analyze for predictive maintenance in the future. It's really difficult, we need to use artificial Intelligence and study work in this system. But it's maybe very useful. Of course, I'm an engineer from airlines and I want to use special software-tool for my fleet. And now we can check many different offers. Keep calm and work from home

Dear colleagues,  All the world has a huge shock, many people on the verge of a crisis in different industries. And of course aviation. Many borders were closed. Where is the open world and globalization? And a big problem: we don't know about the future. When we can travel without delays, problems and afraid? Who knows... We can only sit with cross fingers and wait. But still, we have a huge opportunity on the internet. We can have communicated, work and study every day at home in all countries.  Some people from different countries wrote to me and asked about my situation and I started this message. Open information it's really important in this case.  I can tell a bit about my country and my life now.  I work from home all the previous week.
